AAP: ASU x AAOP: A2A Solidarity Workshop

Come join the Asian-American Student Union and the Asian American Organizing Project for a collaborative event!

The workshop focuses on how to work in solidarity between different Asian ethnic groups. In this workshop, participants will learn about each other's political and social histories and gain the importance of understanding Asian cultural nuances while navigating community movement work through learning about one another's experiences. This workshop will be facilitated as a community conversation between participants.

The workshop is primarily discussion based. The workshop leads, Chong Vang and Linda Her, draw on their own experiences to facilitate these activities and discussions. Many times they have seen the AAPI community lumped together as a monolithic entity and the history between ethnic groups ignored by those outside of and within the AAPI community. Participants discuss with others in their ethnic group about their cultural history, traumas, and nuances. Eventually, all participants will share their discussions and learn about the cultural aspects of their peers.
