June 2018 Newsletter
From endings, sprout new beginnings.
As one chapter closes, so another opens. The year has come to an end, and as we draw the curtains on 2017-2018, please join us in congratulating and welcoming the completed ASU board for the 2018-2019 academic year! These individuals are talented, passionate, and will no doubt present to you meaningful events and initiatives in the coming year. If you see them around, please don't hesitate to say hello!
To the incoming board and all new board members in the community, as you move forward, remember that each of you have many unique experiences to draw upon. What you contribute to the community will never be the same and cannot compare to what someone else contributes, but the special thing about being in a community is that you all share a drive to build and elevate it. You'll have an eventful, bumpy road ahead of you -- sometimes, it'll be amazing and more than you expected. And sometimes, things won't go as planned. Remember that life moves in unexpected ways, and each experience is a lesson that will create a better version of yourself. Remember that as a board member, you have the amazing opportunity to impact someone else's life directly. Thank you for choosing to share your talents with us this upcoming year.
To you, the volunteers, affiliates, alumni, and attendees -- our general assembly! -- we'd like to sincerely thank you for all of the memories this year. From simple greetings and ringing laughter in room 226, to exciting events and educational workshops, this entire year's work was not done by the board alone, but also by you. Without you, there would be no community. We've grown together, hand in hand and step by step, as leaders and as a community. Although this term has ended, we hope that you will still remain with us through the coming years and forever support the mission of the Asian-American Student Union.
